Winner!!! And a little teaser.....

First up... congratulations to Sherry who is the winner of my giveaway on the 'When Sparks Fly' blog hop. It was a great hop, with some brilliant books and  my TBR list is even longer than it was before (how did I survive before I got my kindle?!).

And because the heat is rising over here (yes, we have seen some sun!) I thought I'd share an excerpt from 'Surrender Your Soul'. If you met James in Riding High, well he's back, or at least he's on his way....

“What do you fantasise about Kez? Not two men?”
She shook her head and looked at him like he was mad, but didn’t move. “No, I told you. I want one man,” she hesitated, “who I want so much I don’t need anyone else.” A blush of pink had edged its way along her cheekbones and she wasn’t a devil, she was more a fallen angel who had nothing to lose. “Even if it’s just for that moment.”
“One man who will do everything you ask him to?”
“No.” She licked her bottom lip nervously but her gaze didn’t waver from his. “I want him to take control.”
“To do what he wants to you?” His balls were tingling, stirring with the kind of need he usually reserved for the dreams that crept up on him. Nightmares that turned him on and frightened him off.
“No.” She swayed slightly. “I want someone who will do what he knows I want him to.”
“A mind reader.”
“You know what I want. I open my mind, you open yours.”
“You want me to pin you down.” This wasn’t going the way it was supposed to. But he wasn’t sure he cared. He wanted her in a way he couldn’t remember wanting a woman in a long time, he wanted to please her. He wanted to fuck her. “Hold you down so you can’t say no.” His cock burned against his groin, he could feel the dampness of pre cum that made him want her more. “Hold your legs open as I explore you inside, and you can’t move, can’t stop the sensations.” Her throat gave a tremor as she swallowed, her lips gently parted, waiting. “You want to be turned on until you’re begging for me to fuck you, but I don’t.” She never moved as he stepped round her, stood behind her so that he could kiss her neck, shoulder, let the sweet smell of her sex grab at him even more. He nipped at the delicate skin with his teeth and she whimpered. He couldn’t stand much more of this, he really did need to push his way inside that soft body. “You want me to play with you, finger you inside until you want to clutch at me with your thighs, make yourself come, but I don’t let you. I hold your legs wide, force you to let it build, force your body to let go.”

“Just fucking do it.” She spun round, went up on tip toe, her body trembling with tension against his and reached up to kiss him. But he beat her to it. His mouth was crushing her soft lips, bruising, needing, as his teeth skated along the edge of her tongue. She pulled away, panting. “What do you want, James?”

New release!! 'A French Affair' by Lucy Felthouse

A French Affair by Lucy Felthouse

Sydney Tyler is renting a barn conversion in Northern France, planning to spend the fortnight getting some words down on her novel. Unfortunately, construction work in the other half of the building puts an end to her peace and quiet. Genuinely upset that the builders are going to disturb her, the property’s handsome English owner, Harry Bay, offers to make it up to her. He’s a little flirtatious, and after spotting his wedding ring, Sydney keeps him at arm’s length. Sexy as he is, she has no intention of getting involved with a married man. But when Sydney learns the truth about Harry, will their mutual attraction spur them on to work through their emotional baggage and make this more than just a French affair?

Excerpt:
Sydney Tyler jumped so hard that her fingers slammed down onto the laptop’s keyboard and she typed a bunch of gobbledegook.

Gasping, she clutched at her chest as her heart thumped rapidly and painfully. “What the fucking hell was that?” she said to the empty room.
Pushing her chair back from the desk, she stepped over to the window. Peering out into the brilliant sunshine, she saw something on the lawn that she had absolutely not been expecting. Workmen.
She groaned. So much for her peaceful writer’s retreat. She’d planned to get a good chunk of her novel down in the fortnight she was away, and now it looked as though her peace was going to be monumentally shattered by banging, drilling and God knows what else.
Sighing, she gave the windowsill a pathetic thump in her frustration. She might have been pissed off, but she was no vandal. And besides, she didn’t want those noisy buggers in her part of the building fixing things—having them next door was bad enough.
Sydney really could not believe her shitty luck. When she’d booked the cottage in the French village of Monthiers over the phone a couple of months ago, she’d dealt with a fellow Brit called Harry Bay, who she’d suspected was the owner. On arrival, though, a timid French woman had met her and let her into the luxurious barn conversion before handing over the keys and explaining a little bit about the local area. Apparently, in the mornings, someone came along the village streets, selling fresh bread and pastries.
There wasn’t much else to tell, it seemed, as the village had nothing except a church—almost opposite her accommodation—and a tavern. It was also lacking—she’d quickly discovered—a mobile signal. Not even a single bar illuminated her screen. Her phone was now no more than a watch, alarm clock and calendar. If there was an emergency, she was screwed. But on a much lighter note, it was one less distraction. She could just get on with what she was here to do, blissfully undisturbed.
The arrival of workmen was incredibly irritating. Her temporary landlord hadn’t mentioned there’d be anyone working next door. If he had, she wouldn’t have booked the place—the quiet and idyllic location were the whole reason for choosing this property, this area. Even though there was no way he could have known she was there to work, common courtesy would dictate that he told her. Perhaps he was just interested in taking her money and didn’t give a damn about whether she had a satisfactory stay or not. There was nothing to be done about it now, unfortunately. She’d paid for the fortnight, and she was buggered if she was going to cut and run, pissing that money down the drain. She’d just have to find a way around the disturbance, and console herself that she could leave a snarky write up on a review site when she got home.
Finding out the builders’ working hours would be a good start—she could attempt to write around them then. Or perhaps she could make use of the headphones she’d stuffed into her case, without ever thinking they’d get used. Some loud rock music would drown out the din from next door and hopefully allow her to work. It was worth a try. She hoped they were only doing a small job that would only take a couple of days, but deep down she knew they weren’t. They were renovating the whole place so it was as beautiful as the half she was in.
She was just about to go in search of the aforementioned headphones when one of the men pottering around on the lush back garden stepped away from the others. Standing in a shaft of sunlight, he pulled his arms high above his head and stretched, dragging up his t-shirt to reveal a lean stomach with a fine line of dark hair leading enticingly into the waistband of his jeans.
Oh yum, she thought, perhaps having builders next door wouldn’t be so bad after all. Especially if they all looked like him. She continued to watch as the man dropped his arms to his sides and watched the others. His dark hair was overlong and stuck out at crazy angles, as though he’d been running his fingers through it. She couldn’t see the colour of his eyes from this distance, but she could make out enough detail of his features to see that he was handsome. Gorgeous, actually. Close up he could be much less attractive, but from her upstairs window, the view was pretty fine.
Just then, he glanced across at her side of the long barn, which was divided into two holiday cottages. He caught sight of her standing there, and his face dropped. He looked back at the builders, then returned his gaze to her again. Pointing at the group of noisy men, he slapped his forehead with his other hand. Finally, he pointed at his chest, then up at her. He was indicating he wanted to come in. She paused, then nodded. Common sense told her she shouldn’t be letting a strange man into her temporary home, but then, there were several large, bulky men milling around, so if they were a dodgy sort, she and the locked door would have no chance against them, especially with no means of calling for assistance. She could scream, of course, but she doubted anyone would come. The walls of the building were extremely thick—though sadly, no match for banging and drilling—the nearest house was a little way down the road, and by day, the village was all but deserted. There was only one business that she knew of—the tavern—so the other inhabitants would have to go elsewhere to work. To nearby Chateau-Thierry, perhaps, or even further afield.
She’d just have to hope that the handsome man—probably the head honcho of their group—was also a decent one. Presumably they were a reputable company, as they’d been hired by the British owners, who were usually more wary of cowboy builders, and given the horror stories and dedicated TV programmes back home, it was understandable.
Before she got even halfway down the stairs, a knock came at the door. Okay, so he was polite enough to knock, that was good. She moved a little faster, careful not to trip in her flip flops and go hurtling downwards. Once she was safely on the ground floor, she twisted the key in the door and opened it.

#SexySnippets - Seven from Forfeit

On Friday I was celebrating my first anniversary as a published author, so here's seven sentences from 'Forfeit' - the book that started it all! Check out my previous post if you fancy winning a signed copy of the print edition.

‘Now spread your legs apart.’ He was close, so close, watching as she sacrificed herself. Her breasts were rising and falling as she struggled to keep composure, to fight the growing need inside her. She edged her feet further apart, feeling the dampness of her knickers pressing against her pussy, needing to hold the curtains to keep her balance. His hands stroked the inside of her thighs, edged them further apart, ran up towards her mound, his thumbs brushing lightly over her crack, caressing her clit with the lightest feather touch. Then, as she could feel herself tighten in anticipation, feel the scream in her throat, he dropped his hands to his sides again.
‘You’re mine, Cat, and I intend to have every bit of you.’

Now I'm off to check out all the other SexySnippets, have a great Sunday!

Good News Friday - UPAuthors Award winner and more!

Hi! I've had a bit of a hectic week, so I thought I'd share the highlights before I go off to celebrate! Hope it's been a good one for you too - have a great weekend wherever you are and whatever you're doing :-)

My first bit of good news....I'm thrilled to say that 'Good Enough to Share' can now be called Award Winning!
In the recent UP Authors Erotic/Romance contest (UPAuthors.com) it was awarded Runner UP in two different categories - Best Title and Best Chapter.

Secondly, have you seen the new cover for 'Forfeit'?
I love the new look that Xcite Books have come up with - very sexy and intriguing. What do you think? I'd love to know :-)

So, why the new look? Well, part of the reason is that 'Forfeit' is now available in print. This is my first single title to come out as a paperback, so as you can imagine I'm pretty excited (a bit of an English understatement!).

You can already buy a copy direct from Xcite (click here), and it will be more widely available later in the year.

I also had a brief moment when I could have kissed the postman yesterday (okay, it was brief, I got over it pretty quick!) because he brought this! Excuse the picture quality, but I snapped as soon as it was out of the wrapper :-)
My novella 'Freefalling' was written for the Secret Library collection, and is one of three stories in 'Masquerade'. The other two are by the brilliant Elizabeth Coldwell and Poppy Summers. Each story has also come out previously as an individual e-book, and the collection is available as an e-book as well. But, wow, it feels so good to hold a paperback containing one of my stories! I do love e-books, but I also love a physical book I can hold (and I'm stroking this one too!).

Then, mid-week I discovered that the 'Serviced, Volume 1' anthology from Breathless Press is going to be released on 1st March - a week earlier than expected. You can already pre-order from Breathless Press if you want to make sure you're one of the first to read my short story 'Taking Command' and of course the other nine sexy soldier stories!

And, to complete my week of good news, I've just signed a contract for 'Spice It Up' with Xcite Books. The novella will be part of the Secret Library collection. If you've been reading #sexysnippets you will have already met my sexy Spaniard - if not, there will be more teasers coming soon!

New Release! - Masquerade (The Secret Library)

What a brilliant start to the weekend, I woke up Saturday morning and was googling my name (as you do) and found out I had a new release!

My novella, 'Freefalling', was written as part of Xcite Books Secret Library series, so I knew that in February next year it would be published as part of a three story collection, and would be my first story to come out in paperback - I can't wait to get my hands on a copy! What I didn't know was that the eBook version would be out, well, right now!

The other two stories are written by the brilliant Elizabeth Coldwell and the wonderful Poppy Summers. The stories have been published as eBooks individually, but if you haven't read them yet here's a chance to grab all three together (or you can wait for that lovely, plush paperback copy in February).

Hope your weekend has been as good as mine,
Zara x

So, here are the details.....

'MASQUERADE' (The Secret Library) - A collection of three erotic romance novellas, part of the Secret Library series

Available from - Xcite Books, Amazon (UK), Amazon (US)

A little taster!

Life has been a bit hectic over the last couple of weeks, but I'm not complaining! One of the good things that has happened is the release of my erotic novel 'Riding High' - here's a taster, and there will be lots more snippets and insights when I do my blog tour, from November 26th -30th, I'll post the where and when here, hope you can join me then!

In the meantime.... I'm over Deadra Krieger's blog this Thursday 8th, I've been lucky enough to nab a 'Thankful Animals and Author's' slot to chat about a couple of the rescue animals that I've shared my life with. Her book 'Ruff Love: True Tails of Rescue' has just been released - have you checked it out yet? Click here if you haven't!

 Excerpt

‘Ahh, looks like I’ll have to watch my manners, then.’ He grinned, a big, dirty grin that said he wasn’t planning on watching his manners at all. ‘Unless I want some rough handling.’ He was close. Too close, far too close. Sending a strong whiff of maleness in her direction. It could have been aftershave; it could have been hormones, but who cared? It was making her feel seriously randy.
‘Yes.’ Which came out all squeaky. Calm. She just had to be calm and relaxed. ‘What do you fancy?’
He leant forward a bit, resting his tanned, muscled forearms on the bar, and caught her arm with his thumb, which didn’t help at all. ‘Well –’ his laugh rumbled round her ‘ –seeing as you’re asking …’
Christ, she must be able to stop blushing, and she really must be able to say something that didn’t sound like she was asking permission to jump him. Except she was asking, wasn’t she?
Talking to men had never been her strong point, and it would seem that even at 30 it still wasn’t. Maybe five long years of a soulless marriage and the type of sex that made your eyes water for all the wrong reasons had made her even worse at it.
She shifted her arm nervously away. This wasn’t how she normally behaved at all, but he was just so sexy, or she was sex-starved and desperate. Or both.
‘I think I better …’ She edged back, trying to ignore the way his gaze raked over her body, but her nipples were peaking in response, and her stomach was coiled with a fierce kind of hunger. She straightened a glass that didn’t need it; what was she even doing here? Just for once she’d thought a change of scene would do her good, help her forget the disaster she once called a life. And it might have done if Mr Sex-on-Legs hadn’t walked in.
‘I’ll go for the bitter if you promise to pull it nice and slow.’ He grinned. ‘No rough handling.’ He shifted back a bit on the bar stool, and she remembered she knew how to breathe.
‘Fine, I promise to pull it exactly how it’s supposed to be pulled.’ There must have been the teacher’s edge to her voice from the slightly amused look he shot her, but it was something she couldn’t help; that instinctive warning when somebody was telling her how to suck eggs. Even if he was making her all gooey inside, which proved she wasn’t a completely lost cause when it came to men, and almost made her smile.
He reached out just as she put the beer down, so that for a brief moment his hand covered hers, sending another shiver of something that really wasn’t good straight through her body. ‘I can’t persuade you to stop for a sec and have a drink with me?’ He glanced pointedly round the deserted pub. ‘Join me on the wrong side of the bar, seeing as you’re not exactly run off your feet?’
‘Well …’
‘Just for one before you shut up shop for the night? I promise I won’t bite.’
Biting might be good.

Hope you enjoyed it! Yippee, I've just spotted the first review - a 5* on amazon uk!!
