New Release! 'His Seafaring Siren' by Lisa Adams

Blurb
New couple Septimus and Mowriyah have accepted the grave task to embark on a rescue mission back to the Rome, the very place they once fled from. With lives at stake, both are prepared to fight the Roman guards if their plans are discovered, but fighting their emotions is another battle neither expected.

When a past lover resurfaces, the couple is forced to examine their relationship while still trying to carry out their mission. But is their young love strong enough to survive the trials abroad and at sea?

Excerpt:

Septimus turned and saw Mowriyah gliding across the boat deck in a beautiful earth-toned gown. It was cut low on her chest and trimmed in a delicate stitching. She was a vision and his loins reacted to her without his consent. Cursing his manhood for acting on instinct, he tried to put on his angry face.

Mowriyah slowed. She tilted her head ever so slightly, the wind catching her short, bobbed hair to blow it over her face, making her even more compelling. He watched as she gracefully lifted her hand and tucked the windblown hairs behind her ear. She was batting her eyes. Oh, no.

She walked within inches of him and grinned. "May I join you?" Her voice was low and seductive.

He felt the anger leave his body and was confounded that she had this type of power over him. He dropped his hardened expression. "Of course."

She shuffled closer to him and the rocking of the boat caused her breasts to rub against his arms. What was it about this woman that had him so spellbound?

"You are not still angry with me, are you?"

"No, I am not angry." He inhaled deeply. "I still do not want you to go though."

"I understand."

Septimus felt a wave of relief crash through his body. "So, you will stay? Really?"

She looked up at him and he could see her defiance in her eyes. "No. I am going with you. I said I understand how you feel."

The horror of his worst nightmares came barreling back to him. "Mowriyah, please." He turned to face her completely and then grabbed her forearms to pull her to his chest. "This will not be a safe trip. There will be times that we will have to split up, and I cannot protect you when I am not with you."

She raised an eyebrow. "Protect me? And exactly when have I needed your protection?" Her muscles tensed beneath his grip as she tried to slide away from him, but he tightened his hold. "Septimus, we have been here for three months and have been together every day and night, yet I feel you know little about me other than the taste of my skin."

"Do not be like that, Mowriyah," he pleaded.

"Besides, you know I am right. You have no idea what Leihla looks like, so how would you find her?"

"You could tell me, and I would find her."

"Tell you what? She is my height, has majestic black hair, and ocean blue eyes."

He felt her wiggle beneath his touch. He craved to hold her close to him. But how could he tell her how he felt? If he did, she would want a larger commitment, and he wasn't ready to take Decimus's route yet. There were too many young maidens in Caledonia.

"Septimus, let me go." He watched as her face contorted and showed signs of anger. The cute little "V" that formed at her eyebrows when she was furious was evident, and he could feel his manhood awaken with delight.

He slid his hands down her arms to her wrists and restrained them in his hands. Mowriyah's head flew up and he locked on to her glare. Her eyes were wide and he knew she was surprised.

Tugging her forward, he slammed her into his chest. Her breasts pressed against him and warmed the skin beneath his tunic. With his hands still gripping her tightly, he grinned, feeling her heartbeat speed up. Her mouth twitched at the corners and he watched as she tried to hide a smile by biting her lip.

Septimus licked his own lips instinctively. She squirmed, rubbing her breasts against his chest with every writhe. "What am I going to do with you?" he growled.

The smile escaped and her face lit up. "That's a good question. What will you do with me?"

Lisa A. Adams writes from a little plot of country, tucked away in the North Carolina Sandhills. Having been an avid reader and a history major in college, writing historical fiction seemed to be the next step in her career. As a multi-published author, she has learned that completing mundane, everyday tasks can spark ideas for her next story. In fact, she was assisting in a science project for one of her children, when the idea for His Seafaring Siren came to her. When she’s not writing, Lisa can be found in her sewing room or watching The History Channel and jotting down notes for her next project. Hundreds of stories have been sketched out and are simply awaiting their place in line. Look for the next book in the “Caledonia’s Captives” series to be coming soon.

When asked about her family, Lisa will be the first to tell you that they are the backbone of not only of her writing career, but anything she chooses to pursue as well. She has been married to her husband for ten years and has five wonderful children, a loveable mop dog, and two very spoiled cats.

Gayl Taylor - 'Ride A Cock Horse', a 1st anniversary tour!

Thank you, Zara, for hosting me today! One year ago, my debut as a writer released with Breathless Press.
The journey began however, much earlier. A story, inspired by an amusing title, gave birth to characters who, to this day, still talk to me.
You would think writing a story based on a nursery rhyme is simple. I mean, you have the 'plot' laid out in front of you right? That's not always the case. The one thing I knew was that my story would be contemporary and that I wanted to use as much of the nursery rhyme as I could. Here's how I broke it down:

Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross to see a fine lady upon a white horse.
From this line, Hunter's story grew. After leaving town a broken man, Hunter returns to win back his true love, Kate Banbury. Her ancestral roots grow deep in this town as you can see by her surname. And of course, she drives a white mustang. ;)
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, she shall have music wherever she goes
Both Hunter and Kate are musicians. When Hunter sees Kate after all these years, her glittering jewelry flashing as she emerges from her car. She still wears the delicate anklet with tiny bells Hunter gave her as a reminder of the beautiful music they make together.
From that point, the story grew. It is about love, redemption, and forgiveness. Maybe one day, I will revisit Hunter and Kate to reveal where they are now.

Blurb:
Musician Hunter Blake returns to Banbury Cross to win back his true love, Kate. Will they find a way to make beautiful music again?

Not even a cock horse could bring musician Hunter Blake back to Banbury Cross, yet here he stood, ten years after leaving, to make amends for his past behavior and win back his true love, Katherine Banbury. Their relationship was in perfect harmony until Hunter's excessive drinking tore them apart. Now sober, he's focused on doing whatever it takes to prove he's worthy of her love.

Kate spent the last ten years determined to forget Hunter. With a developer intent on turning her ancestral home into tract housing, Kate had her hands full. When Hunter returns, vivid memories of their passionate history stoke the flames of desire between them. Will Kate fight the attraction or will she open her heart to love once more?

Excerpt:
"Ah, Kate, I've missed you so much."

He pulled her against him, dipped his head until his mouth found the sensitive area behind her ear, and kissed it. His erection pressed into the small of her back as he pulled her closer. With his left hand, he unfastened the clasp at her neck while the hand that held her moved lower until it found the soft flesh of her thigh. Slowly, he began to caress her, higher and higher, as the top of her dress fell to her waist and exposed her bare breasts. She should have protested, but it felt so good, so right. No one made her feel like this and, as hard as she tried to find someone else, it had always been Hunter's touch that made her body respond.

Kate leaned back so that her head rested on his shoulder. Closing her eyes, she savored each caress as her body naturally responded to his touch. Wet heat pooled between her legs. She ached for him, wanted him to soothe her need and, just when she made up her mind to demand it, one long finger and then another parted her folds and slid inside her. She trembled with desire as his palm worked slowly against her clit while his fingers moved in and out with slow precision.

"You remember that time at Rocky's when you rode that mechanical bull? That was such a turn on; I was so hard watching you that night. Ride my hand, Kate, like you rode the bull." His voice, rough and laced with desire, rumbled against her ear.

Faberge Nostromo - His Secret Dancer

Hi Faberge, thank you so much for dropping by. That cover is gorgeous by the way!

Book blurb –

Dan's drab life is a world away from his secret life as Danielle, the burlesque star of Tomasz's transvestite nightclub, Trans-Action.
Having found 'her' inner T girl as a student, Danielle has discovered the power of her femininity and her talent to entice and excite—but she realizes that Dan's life is losing the passion it once had.
As Danielle's relationship with Tomasz takes her deeper into both her lover and his world, encountering passions neither thought they dare explore, demure Francine is too often left to her own devices and desires. Her only release is in the fantasies inspired by the customers who pass through her life and her patisserie.
Does she want a man in her life or a woman? Or both...
Seeing her man exploring her wardrobe she decides to embrace the power of her own sexuality. Then a sizzling encounter with Tomasz unlocks the vixen in her and sets their two worlds on a collision course.
Can Dan bring Dan's world and Danielle's together—especially when he discovers Danielle's secret lover secretly loving Francine?
Or will Tomasz come between them both

Okay, starting off with the book (and phew it sounds action packed!)…

If you had to sum up ‘His Secret Dancer’ in 30 words or less what would you say?
Can love conquer all and these star-crossed lovers embrace their star cross-dresser in a boy-girl-boy/girl ménage a trois?

Dan/Danielle sounds intriguing – what do you most like about him/her?
I like how Dan finds his inner girl and accepts who he/she is. And she has a great voice – and legs…

Is there anything about ‘her’ that frustrates you?
Yes – she's so nervous and unsure about her singing. Just get on stage and do it, girl!

What does Tomasz most admire about her? What draws him to her?
Her legs! But also she is different to the other T girls Tomasz has known. And she reminds him of his first experience with a dominant woman.

And what is it about Francine that grabs his attention?
It involves chocolate – hot melting chocolate and how she lets him lick some off the wooden spoon while she licks her finger. She is a complete unintentional minx.

Tomasz sounds like one hell of a guy – is he someone you’d trust if you met him in a bar, or would you steer clear?
I did meet someone who was like Tomasz. I liked him and we shared a bottle or two of wine, so yes – I'd trust him.

What/who inspired you to write the story?
I actually met someone who had been a burlesque dancer - a real life Dan/Danielle. We were chatting over drinks watching the sun set in a South African lodge and he happened to mention it. And when he showed us the picture of him as a dancer my jaw hit the floor. I've still never seen a pair of legs in fishnets as good.

And what about the characters - are they a little bit you, people you know, or did they just leap out and grab you (metaphorically speaking of course!)?
Well, as I said, Dan/Danielle is based on a real person, but Tomasz is also based on that person so they're a mix. They're people I've met but none of them is any one person. Francine surprised me most as the story evolved though. I thought I knew who she was but she thought otherwise!

And we, sorry I, being naturally nosy would love to know a bit about you…
Where/when do you write?
When I can really – a lot of His Secret Dancer was written on trains commuting to work, sometimes on my phone (one finger at a time). The editing was mostly done in bursts while I grabbed a coffee on the way to work. My favourite time is when I have an evening to myself although my imagination is best in the morning. I have to make hurried notes for later!

What part of writing do you enjoy most, coming up with the idea, planning, writing it or typing The End?!
Writing it. Pure and simple. Sitting down and getting it onto the page. Typing The End is quite disappointing!

Sum yourself up in 30 words or less (ha, I hate questions like this!)?!
Writes - a bit, plays guitar – ok, sings – not really but tries.

Do you spend much time reading? What’s your favourite bedtime/holiday read? Favourite author/genre?
Since I got my Kindle I've read loads more than I ever did before. From Milton to Jane Austen via Dickens and Homer I've discovered all the stuff I avoided at school.

Coffee or tea (or wine!)?
Can't get by without coffee, but red wine in the evening.

Starter or dessert?
Starter. I've usually eaten too much to find space for dessert.

What would you be doing if time & money were no object?
Writing during the day, playing guitar at night.

Best bit of advice you’ve ever been given, and by whom?
You should write – by a few writers.

And before you run off, can you share a little excerpt?
Sure – Francine has two customers who intrigue her –

A woman, slim, tall, smart business attire – dark blue jacket, strong shoulders, just above knee length skirt, black tights – possibly stockings, but an expensive pair – and a very nice pair of black court shoes, heels just under the low side of slutty but just above the high side of sensible. Her friend/partner was a little shorter; her hair a very neat, jet black bob over piercing eyes very subtly made up and the sexiest mouth Francine had ever gazed upon. Full, almost pouting dark red lips, shimmering with an understated but overwhelming moist invitation to kiss, if you dare. She seemed to smolder with an androgynous sexuality that made Francine catch her breath. They were plainly together, holding hands, eyes on each other and when the taller woman picked up one of the samples of cake that Francine had out on the counter and placed it with an innocent nonchalance, but oh so sexually, in the shorter woman's mouth Francine felt a shiver tingle from her clit through to the depths of her pussy. The shorter woman’s eyes closed as the fingers brushed her lips, dropping the sweet pastry onto her tongue. Her lips closed on the fingers and a soft ‘mmm’ escaped like a sigh as they were pulled away.

Thanks for sharing Faberge and good luck with ‘His Secret Dancer’.
